This is the last photo I took on my last walk around the beautiful lake behind the office where I worked before COVID shut everything down. 3/11/2020 was a Wednesday and I was due to take the rest of that week off to work at a gymnastics meet (which got canceled). Never went back to the office.

Migrating Sandhill Cranes

I was outside starting spring clean-up in my yard and heard the familiar noise of Sandhill Cranes. Looked up and spotted a large group flying overhead. This is at 3x zoom on my iPhone 14 Pro. There is a group near the center of the frame and one in the lower right corner.

Urban Decay: Movie Theater Edition

Just for fun uploading these photos of the (long demolished) Broadway Strand Theater in Chicago on Roosevelt Road. These pictures were taken in 1996 on an Apple QuickTake 200. Resolution of the camera is 640x480 in HQ mode with what looks like 3-bit color and a terrible lens 😂 but boy was it cool to be able to take up to 20 photos (40 in the 320x200 mode) and have them transferred instantly to the computer. The building was demolished 2 years later. Quite a difference from this exterior shot from 1921:
